Arthur Beatrice

There are arguments about what makes a great dance song. For some its the drums, others its having a good vocal hook. To me - its the paino. Get a couple chords and the rest will work itself out. Larry Levan knew that.

Arthur Beatrice do not make anything close to house music, but there is something about "Carter (Cut)" that makes me think of warehouse parties and discos. Its certainly the paino line and how that song could easily be stretched into a 10 minute dance track and I would totally be good with it. Wonder if we can get Lindstøm to do it. From the forthcoming Carter EP, single now available.

SBTRKT x Frank Ocean

Here are a couple track from two of the stand out performances of Coachella - SBTRKT and Frank Ocean. I have seen SBTRKT a couple times and SBTRKT has stepped his already impressive live game up. Frank Ocean really blew me away, the man has unbelievable stage presence for someone who has only done a handful of shows. Anyway, here are two SBTRKT remixes of Frank Ocean. How great would it be if these two put out a collab album or at least did a full song together?

Weird Dreams

Weird Dreams are a psych pop band from London. When I think of Psych pop I conjure up bands like Tame Impala. While Weird Dreams sound very little like Tame Impala, they do sound like absolutely fantastic indie rock. They kind of remind me of what Wavves and the Pains of Being Pure of Heart would sound like is they merged. The "ah-oh"'s of "Where'd I Go Wrong" are infinitely more beachy than 90% of Brooklyn bands. Definitely whats needed for the fall.
