Terry Malts

Hit after hit after hit - the Slumberland records story. Seriously though, how many great bands have released records on Slumberland at this point? A new record that is getting a lot of attention over at Noise Verse Noise is the new Terry Malts album. A fantastic blend of 77 UK punk, 80's hardcore guitars and modern lo-fi recording - kinda like the Vibrators, TSOL and early Vivian Girls had a baby. "Nauseous" repeats the line "You're Love Makes Me Nauseous" until you have to forcible remove it. "Tumble Down" is a Buzzcocks classic they forgot to record. Also, seriously whats in the water up in San Francisco? How can there be this man fantastic bands?

Blackbird Blackbird

As I am sure everyone knows by now, Noise Verse Noise loves Blackbird Blackbird. So whenever we see a new track by him - you know its going up. Blackbird's latest offering is going to get some love from us. "New Leaf" is pop-y tropical track that keeps everything light and moving. Its a little faster than other tracks that we have featured. When the bass kicks in a third of the way through the track, the song gains a real sense of momentum. Another solid track from Blackbird Blackbird.

Thee Oh Sees

Thee Oh Sees are the garage rock kings from San Francisco. Chances are I am not introducing you to the band. However, its always good to check in on a band that is so productive and prolific. These two songs are from a Edition Fiber series for visual artist David Shrigley. They have the classic scuzz sound. Thee Oh Sees also have a new album coming out, Carrion Crawler/The Dream, due out November 15th on In the Red records. This is their second album this year, they released Castlemania back in June. Anyway, check out the tunes and the enjoy the noise.
